After 8 years as a loyal customer, I had a "communications error" on my system. They wanted to charge me to upgrade to a cell unit and a new panel. This company called me non-stop to see if I wanted to sign up for their security system. After reading all the complaints about them I decided to go with another company. The sales person said "Well, when your house gets broken into or starts on fire, then give us a call." What a loser. Purchase their GE Alarm System and service - Never worked from Day one. Kept making excuse after excuse and never fixed it. They changed the contract, deducted unauthorized money from my account. I tried to cancel account because of their deceptive practices. They discontinued service the placed my account in collections for 3800.00. Now I have to clear this up to finance a purchase of a home. My husband and I have been loyal customers of Monitronics. I'm pissed at how they took extra money from my account after they took the agreed amount of the withdrawnal. I had Montronics installed after lies from their salesman. He told me that it was the only wireless system offered and doesn't require me having a home phone. After having it installed I found out that ADT has the better system and it costs less. Don't get the system, it costs to much and once you're in you can't get out until your contract is up. Imagine a security company - whose job it is to keep would-be robbers out of your house - winding up being the biggest criminals of all.
