They have raised their fee to the point where I can no longer afford their service. One month I received no bill, the next month I got a double billing plus a late fee of $3.00 a total of $94.96. In 2002 I signed up with Monitronics to monitor my newly built house. From what I recall the contract was for 3 years (still looking for paperwork). Chris Pellington came to my house to sell the new system. I had ADT alarm system. I called ADT and they told me I would have to pay $354. to stop my contract. Have had them for 8 yrs never had a problem. They have always been polite and never gave me any problems. I have read many complaints on here . I live in new york and have never been threaten or anything eles. If i were you contact the CEOS office and let them know what going on . I wish you all the best of luck Read more

What kept me from going with Monitronics despite the fact that they offer reasonable monthly packages is that they charge an activation fee of between $99-$149 on each of these packages. I went with Armorax instead because they don't charge an activation fee and their package is reasonably priced and covers both professional home monitoring and home automation. They have got to be the greediest bunch of thieves ever. they would send their bills out late. We often got bills that were due in 1 to 3 days we called and complained and we told them they were breaking the law. We could not possibly pay our bill on time so they would charge us a late fee, even when they said they would'nt on the phone. We canceled our service by certified letter. They still did... I will say Monitronics Security lies from the time they call me, just enough to get their foot in the door, give their good sounding sales pitch. Very convincing. They come at a inconvenient time. I told them within 4 working days i did not want the system, come take it out. They sent a guy out, well he told me keep it another 30 days & if i still did not want the system he would come take it out. Well they will not come and take it out. They call me every other day and they send statements each month. I am 76 years old, cannot take any more. I do not know what to do. Thanks, Thelma Read more

Monotronics installed a satisfactory alarm to our house. We had to change the central air A/C thermostat because it is not compatible with our new alarm system. 2 years later the thermostat goes out.
