I feel like the other customers in the reviews I read, a victim of Monitronics' delaying tactics even though I cancelled the service the same day I switched to another company after 3 yrs. I had ADT security systems and i cancelled because monitronics offered me pretty much a better deal And since i still had ADT at the time, the person offering me the service told me his company would pay for the cancellation fee wit ADT. I spoke to a cancellation rep her name is Ashley 88209. She does not have the future of your company in mind. I had more than six years of service over two homes and she wouldn't allow a cancellation said I had 15 months left on A home I sold that transferred to mine. I called to cancel my services and was told that it takes 30 days to process the request and that although I no longer had service, I would still be billed. I asked the Loyalty Department why it took so long and was told they had a to verify my signature with a handwriting expert. I am glad I switch to Vivint. We've been trying to schedule our move for the last six weeks with no success. We've experienced extreme unprofessionalism from most staff with absolutely no follow through, several promises of calls back that have never happened and when trying to call we hear different responses. A guy that "represented" monitronics was walking around our neighborhood with no car going door to door trying to sell this system. He was walking around at 2:00 in the afternoon while everyone was at work. He said he needed to ask some questions to get a quote and he was asking how many dogs we had, how many doors we had in our home. It was very fishy. If this is how the company really does run... It took them 2 months to come fix our alarm, when they came the technician was to lazy to fix the alarm, after he was done he didn't check to see if the alarm worked now after 2 weeks of them being out here we find out that they didn't even fix the alarm the right way so now our alarm doesn't work properly. I am moving to a different state and will be using one of Monitronics competitors. After a call to their customer service to cancel. I was told by customer service that I had 3 years left on my 5 year contract (by the way this is not the norm) and owe $1125.00 for services that I will not use and old equipment was installed long before they talked me into changing from an previous alarm company.... I have been a customer for over 3 years and originally I signed up with Point Security who then transferred it to Monitronics.
