Monitronics - Cancellation procedure
Read the above comments from Florida. I experienced the same problems calling to cancel my service after 9+ years.
I have now paid over two months and have not had service for over 60 days. This is unacceptable business practices and they need to been investigated for the manner of customer service/practices.
There telephone interaction is poor at best and each person has a difference agenda. The first can takes the information, the second wants to go over the situation again, the third wants you to re-state your concerns and get you to re-consider, and the fourth gets rude; over talks (customers)and prolongs the experience.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Location: Surprise, Arizona

Monitronics just wants your money. They shoddily install obsolete equipment that falls off the war, provide incomplete instructions via cheap, illegible photocopies and furnish batteries with cracked cases that leak battery acid.
They make no effort to follow lengths of contracts or consumer protection laws.
Once you cut off their funds from your bank account they will call and threaten you daily. Don't give in.
After about 4 months they will void your contract. Since you never signed a contract with Monitronics, they cannot enforce it.
Hello,
