It took them 2 months to come fix our alarm, when they came the technician was to lazy to fix the alarm, after he was done he didn't check to see if the alarm worked now after 2 weeks of them being out here we find out that they didn't even fix the alarm the right way so now our alarm doesn't work properly. I am moving to a different state and will be using one of Monitronics competitors. After a call to their customer service to cancel. I was told by customer service that I had 3 years left on my 5 year contract (by the way this is not the norm) and owe $1125.00 for services that I will not use and old equipment was installed long before they talked me into changing from an previous alarm company.... I have been a customer for over 3 years and originally I signed up with Point Security who then transferred it to Monitronics. When I initially signed up the person informed me it would go month to month after my agreement ended. So today I called to find out how to cancel and was told it auto renewed for 3 more years. We got a message that our backup battery was not working(low voltage). We secured a new one. It was extremely hard to remove the existing battery as it was wedged into the panel front faces. After being a customer with Monitronics with no problems for 9 years, we started looking into upgrading our system. We called Monitronics first since we were a current customer. Oh my goodness. We were quoted a $150 fee for upgrading our equipment with basically what we have now and $650 for getting a new keypad.
