Like some other people, we tried to cancel the alarm. We called and they said we would get an email with instructions after having to be on the phone with them for over 30 minutes and the person trying to convince us to stay with them. We waited the 3 days to get an email, and of course no email. We then submitted a contact request online for them to follow up with instructions. Still no response. Our house was broken into and the panel was removed by the robbers, the company knowing that decided to intead call each and every member on the call list, but none of us could be reached right away. Spoke with Monitronics customer service rep today, asking why I had another debit on my account even though all documents by all parties required to cancel had been received. Their e-mail confirming this was dated Aug. 30, but first I was told they didn't get to process it until the next day. The worst co to deal with. My equipment was old in the house and i would have taken down the sensors myself had i known. The subcontractor they used took advantage of my lack of knowledge and hooked me up with all the old sensors in the house. Now ny motions sensor is out and i not only have to pay for the sensor, i also have to hire somdone from monotronis come to install it. I am disgusted with the service. Do NOT sign up with Monitronics and their long term contracts. You can buy your own monitoring system that has MORE capability and its OWN dialer-- it calls a list of numbers that you program. Monitronics made me pay their long term contract balance of $1000 even though I was a customer for 10 years. Their support sucks, too. Get a Skylink system, which has more capability and is MUCH cheaper because you're not paying for someone else to... Read more

We sent a cancellation letter dated 6/17/2016 to Monitronics .They called 6/23/2016 to acknowledge receipt of letter.Our next bill showed nothing owed and a $20 credit.Later recieved a monthly bill for services.We called to make sure they understood we had cancelled our service.Monitronics said they would take care of it.Now September and daily calls from an unidentified phone number as well as calls from Monitronics about contacting billing.We ... To Monitronics, Protection Source and anyone else that thinks they can send me bills for something and some company that does not have a current agreement signed by me. I'm so upset that we were deceived into buying this product and service, I purposely asked with 2 witness present to the sale rep if I was not happy with the service ir the product could I cancel I was told infrontt if the witnesses by tge the rep that I coukd cancel at any time! I called in to move my service to another location. I've moved before and they have never charged me extra for installing old equipment and required only a 12 month extension. Today I called to request a move out and they required 24 months extension, but with much debate, they were able to reduce it to 12 months.
