We've been using the services of Monitronics for almost 8 years and decided to cancel the services for financial reason. I was instructed to write a letter of request to cancel the service which I did but they called upon receipt of my letter and offered to lower monthly billing into $19.99 which I agreed and allowed them to use my Visa card for automatic billing.

It happened one time there was a false alarm caused by my wife but We didn't get any response from Monitronics and didn't report it anymore since nothing happened. When payment was stopped due to visa replacement, their representative called to inform and this time I've learned and their representative confirmed there's no way they could contact us in case of emergency because we don't have landline anymore. I told him I am canceling the services because I am paying for nothing.

Their representative told me to wait and his manager will talk to me and I was put on hold for long period of time until I lost contact with them. Until now they keep on sending bill and I am planning to get some help from the authorities to be able to refund of what I have paid for without getting the services.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Full refund.
