Had service for full 5 years. Called after husband passed later in last of May. Service ended in early June! Found out it had to be done through Brinks! No notice in change, 'til called! All had to be done electronically with signature from singing in the beginning! Gave all info. to them over the phone needed! I'm 75 & it was hard to do. Statement from bank shows payment taken out in June!! Have home phone, no text. Got to support for Brinks, put everything in, went through not a robot, summit & a thing came up for tch ? each time! Even tho I was not a robot, could not send! Shame! Down right stupid. Would never go with them again!! All I wanted was to get the payment back for June & no further to be taken out of my account!! Sad when you can't get a hold of anyone! The chat line did not have anyone to help!! BBB will hear from me!!!!

We were told to send a letter to cancel and shortly afterward received a reply. You can not cancel. Hurricane Maria took out the power and telephone system. Still no service and and communications but a contract is a contract. "Thats not our problem." was the response on the phone. Again, we called and was given the run around about adding more service! That is not why we called. They handed us off to 3 different reps and all said the same thing as if they were reading it from the same piece of paper. A terrible company to do business with. We no longer need the service and to install the telephone lines will take over 5 months they said.

Back in the beginning of April I called monitronics asking to cancel because we were moving. I found out then that I had a contract of 60 months that their salesperson never told us about (it was in the fine print apparently) so I asked to put it on hold until we moved into our new location 3 months later. Guy said ok and that was it. He did NOT tell me to be sure to take my equipment with me or I would’ve done just that. During our 3 months we kept getting bills and then bills with late fees attached when we were told we would not have to pay while we didn’t have service. I called and they said it would get fixed when we restarted service. Makes no sense right? Well then my husband started getting calls THREATENING COLLECTIONS! Because our bill was past due. I had to call them again and make them cancel out our bills and put it on hold for sure this time so that we would be able to buy our house. Fast forward to move in. I called to set up install and was told it would be $900 to install since I didn’t bring my equipment with me. Something I WASNT TOLD TO DO!!! I was told to bring my invisible fence equipment with me so guess what I did! If I would’ve known to bring it I would’ve!! The only way around the price is to extend my contract. Why would I want to extend my contract with a company who has made moving ridiculous?! I will NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. They are awful at best. If you want to cancel they are awful and if you move they are even worse. We are a military family and they are just screwing us over!

Ridiculousness is putting it nicely!! | Monitronics

Ridiculous! We moved back in the beginning of April out of our house and for 3 months we wouldn’t have a house while our new one was being built. I called to put our account on hold and let them know I was moving and wouldn’t be in our house until end of June. Guy said ok. Never said make sure to take your equipment—meaning door things, fire detector, panel—everything with you or we will charge you a ridiculous outrageous fee to have it installed at new location. So as the 3 months goes on I keep getting bills saying our payment is due-I was told I wouldn’t have to pay while moving- and then bills with late fees attached. I called they said o it’ll be fine we will cancel it out when you move. Then we start getting CALLS THREATENING COLLECTIONS! We were trying to buy a new house and they are treatening sending our bills to collections so I had to call back again and raise *** for them to actually do their job and put my account on HOLD and cancel out the balance. Fast forward to moving in. I call to have it set back up. Mind you I’m already upset with their customer service through this whole ordeal. I find out that since no one told me to take my equipment that it would be $900 to have it installed or I can cancel my contract (mind you that we weren’t told we had by the salesman—our fault for not reading the fine print about a 60 month contract) but to cancel I have to pay out the remaining months (32 months left at this point I believe) we are a military family and can’t afford either of those options. This is the most ridiculous transaction I’ve ever had to deal with. Not happy will NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!! This needs to be reconciled ASAP. MONITRONICS SHOULD FRONT THE BILL FOR INSTALLATION AND EQUIPMENT since they didn’t tell me to take mine!!!! I would've easily taken it if I knew to. I took my invisible fence equipment since I was told to. Worst customer service EVER!

Terrible harrassment of 85 year old woman | Monitronics

My parents had Monitronics for several years. They decided to request a front door key pad lock. A tech came out and was there so long my parents called me over. We were told that they would have to replace their large carved front doors. He was not able to do anything for them. A few months later mom was contacted by her sales rep from Monironics who told her the contract was up and he could give her the security cameras and front door lock she needed at his new company. She went with the new company. Monitronics went to my parents home and stated harassing her why are you leaving Monitronics? My father had just passed away! I called Monitronics and they said that they extended the contract another few years due to the tech coming out that day! My mother spoke with the new company about the sales rep. They agreed to pay $800$800 to end the Monitronics contract. Monitronics agreed to that settlement. Mom just received the $800 and called Brincs (old Monitronics) and they now say they have no record of this agreement. I also had confirmed the arrangement (I am her daughter). They will not cancel her monthly service. I have tried to call the 800-447-9239 and we are disconnected several times. This is senior abuse!! No one will help us! We want to send them the $800 we received and end this contract. Horrible service!!

Originally was told I was signing up for a three year contract. Didn’t read the fine print when signing and they tricked me into a five year contract. No big deal except lost one job had to move in with someone else in another state and sell my home. I call to cancel, they tell me how I have been a great loyal customer thank me for my timely payments and offer to suspend service for a few months. I decline since I’m living with someone else and then they tell me I owe over $1100 to terminate since I was on a 5 year contract. I ask to speak with a supervisor and they tell me no that they are the highest I can go. Extremely poor customer service!! So sorry that I had life changing circumstances, didn’t mean to inconvenience the alarm company. Now they are owned by brinks. I believe it’s a *** poor decision on brinks part. I will never do business with this company again. If you are smart you will stay away and go with a more reputable company.

Mono had to " Farm-out " an IDT Tech to attempt to resove numerous problems . HELP ME The wait time for this call was far far too lengthy as is the problems gone unresolved , by your " Farmed Out " Techs . I must cancel ASAP as I"ve art that must be secured . Time waited 34 minutes typical .There isn't a MONO Tecc in my democratic mismananaged State of Ct , a Sanctuary State for Illegals , Jihadists and those that want the world for nothing ENTITLEMENT PARASITES .
