I tried canceling train being I don't use the system and I was also offered a cheaper rate with a different company.I chose to just cancel Monitronics but they refuse to cancel, I still have to pay the monthly due even though my service would be technically canceled.

I don't get how that's legal.

I've canceled other devices before with other company's and did pay a fee of some kind but never had to pay the whole amount remaining on the term.I just want to cancel but it seems like it's going to take legal action to get this simple matter resolved.

Monetary Loss: $375.
